Council tax banding of a property with private road

OP had your home existed in 1991 how much more would it have achieved, had it been on a normal adopted road, because that is what the VOA will look at. If you go to a Tribunal you can ask the VOA to disclose sale prices of the Band D houses you have found.
BTW the VOA is part of HMRC and is central government not local.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
Working on the basis of part of the CT pays for the roads and its furniture.
Say your private road is a mile long. There are probably 2000+ miles of road that the council are responsible for (based on a County Council). Therefore you should only pay 1999/2000ths of the percentage of the CT that covers roads. Comes nowhere near dropping a band - more likely reducing your bill by 50pThis is a system account and does not represent a real person.
