Erm, not sure I follow the Boris/donkey hoof/ chip fat thread - should we ask or is it better not to know??:rotfl:

You prob won't want to know after I've told you but...

Igor lives at Ennessdee Towers with Nargle - I can't quite recall how Igor arrived (Nargle I know you reminded me not long ago so apologies for forgetting) and he is, among other things, resident Head Chef at the Towers (partly because he took the job title literally and beheaded the last head chef ) He has cooked up some legendary fare at our NSD gatherings such as sprout curry (stay upwind :eek:), turnip whisky and moonshine margaritas - plus a whole load of other totally unidentifiable stuff that usually also has a pair of his underpants floating in it  (apparently he uses the same pot to cook and do his laundry in...lovely). Nargle took a break in Aug and went on holibobs as did Igor, leaving Boris (some distant relation or Igor's, holding the fort at the Towers) - it seems that the cookery gene runs very strongly in the family there :eek:

Now, poor Hubert a donkey, i actually have no idea where he comes from and unfortunately has a serious incontinence problem so will [STRIKE]usually [/STRIKE]sometimes be found in a nappy. Unfortunately for a number of us, we have ended up on cleaning duties after a NSD shindig - and unfortunately for Hubert, many of Igors recipes seems to involve trying to add him to the pot

    ....sorry you asked now? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • NSD #1 for me! :)
  • Declaring NSD#1 for today please.

I'm only including non-budgeted spends so even though spent money on food and petrol it all came out of budgets AND I managed to persuade OH to trade having a coffee and cake whilst out (usually £8) for a £3 fancy pie for dinner (which came out of food budget) :j think this is ok by the rules?

Good luck to everyone for the week ahead. Back to school for me tomorrow:(

.....and further to the saga, when I am at home in Chateau Nargle, Igor takes up residence in a little flat in the dungeons, where he sits polishing his fabulous collection of chefs' knives and searching his massive collection of cookery books for inspiration. He just turned up one stormy night and I felt sorry for him so gave him a job. Another NSD gang member (Bdini) sometimes lets Hubert the donkey stay at her place, where he stands guard in the back passage in case of burglars. As well as a continence problem, he also eats everything that's going, and has a weird fancy for stiletto shoes.....then of course there is our resident pal Spoon who nicked the original Tardis from the BBC (the one you see on TV is a copy) and uses it to transport us all to our NSD gang outings......

Now you're definitely sorry you asked....

Thanks for September's thread freeby - how did it get to 5 pages already. And come to think about it, how did it get to be September already

Well done to everyone who got number 1 today

I've decided to count days where I spend out of one of my many budgets as NSDs....I'm finding that if I buy petrol or something that I've budgeted for it encourages me to spend on other things too as I haven't been declaring as NSD anyway

I'm going to start with my usual 15 for the month and hope to be raising it later if my new rules work :money:

Not one today though.....treated my DD to a coffee and cake (well, hot chocolate for DD)

...and we're the sane ones about here :rotfl: We also used to have Daisy the cow but haven't seen her about for ages, I fear Igor may have errr....well...best not think about what he might have done

Stick around for one of our NSD virtual outings - always good for a giggle, next one will prob be for Halloween. One of our memebers Jinty hasn't been seen since the last St Andrews Day one when someone bought along David Tennant and neither have been seen since ;)

Finally sat on my backside for the first time proper since this morning:
    • Finished painting the windows, just need to clean round the glass. Popped to Mr A for Whoppsie time and came out with 4 lamb steaks for 40p (total), carrot and swede for 5p, pasta sauce for 10p and some gammon with pineapple for £2 (ok, not as good as the others but it looked nice and I wasn't risking someone else getting it.). Came home, cut the wood to go over the hole in the bathroom floor, but it's actually a bit thick and now it's wedged - so I need to get some pliers to get the bath panel frame off so I can pull it back out :wall:
    • Made chicken, leek and mushroom pie with things I already had in :money: thinned the soup a little too much but it's ok - made mash and have two portions of both left :A
    • Played freezer Tetris to get the lamb steaks in - I've now reached 'expert' level :rotfl:
    • Bedding washed and changed
    • Ironing - errr - half done :o
    • Oh and OH fixed the washers under the taps while I was in Mr A  after the 'insert rude word for village idiot' who did and re-did them about three times still didn't manage to get the taps centered on the big washers yesterday so the rubber was all poking out

So frankly, I'm a bit pooped and not looking forward to the prospect of boot camp at 6.30am

Still at least dinner is sorted for tomorrow evening so I can get on with other stuff out of the kitchen.

    Sorry for the long waffle...:o:o:o:o
