I beg to differ, a lot of my roles have allowed me to start on the proviso of DBS clearance and references. Granted you might have limited access to systems in the interim until these are clear but it is pretty standard, in the contract world anyway
Ive not had roles that required DBS clearance, just the usual checks eg refererences.0 -
i have this situation a lot in my industry. Particularly the new firm holding off contacting the current employer as you can get into a catch-22 situation, resigning from your current job with no guarantee of the next.
My firm uses a third party firm to check references and we have had also sorts of criminals gettin thru the checks and their misdemeanours coming out years later! i wouldnt worry!0
