I hope someone can help, as I’m currently lost with what I’m experiencing.
My father In-Law is a member of a local club who in turn is part of a national body (I don’t want to name anything sorry) who participate in outdoor events during the summer months.
In the past 6 months his health has restricted the distances he can walk, although his upper body is relatively okay. He currently uses a 2 wheel electric mobility scooter to transport himself to where he needs to be in order to participate once there he is okay until he is finished.
The people who own the grounds are fine with the scooter. But the club for which he is associated with have decided that through a risk assessment they carried out, the use of the scooter means their insurance is invalid.
Where I am lost with this, is that what he does was part of the Olympic and Paralympic legacy.
But when his body becomes less than the average person and needs assistance the only advice he is give is sorry we can’t help our insurance is invalid.
