Can I get a student loan with a bad credit rating?
Hello all.
I am a 26 year old male currently working within the NHS. I would love to become a nurse one day. Therefore I would need to go to Uni.
First though, I will need to do a Access course to nursing.
My concern is though, once I have completed that and I apply for Uni, and a student loan, I will get rejected due to my poor credit rating.
Will my credit rating affect getting a student loan?
Thank you
Dave

Bad credit has no effect on student loan.
However, don't expect to be getting a student bank account anytime soon.0 -
credit rating wont effect the student loan at all. Afterall, alot of students have no credit history at all as they are only just 180

For a normal student loan you are not credit checked. This is because the repayments are automatically taken out of your pay (once you earn enough to repay them!) and so you don't have a choice whether to pay it or not!!0 -
Thanks all for the feedback.
Mind is at ease now to concentrate on getting this done.
Thank you

For your access course - apply for a 24+ advanced learning loan.
As you wish to complete an access course, upon successful completion of the HE (the degree) your 24+ learning loan would be written off0 -
They dont run any credit checks0
