Concluding Missives - Scotland

Hello,
I would appreciate any clarity or guidance with the below scenario, note we are based in Scotland.
We are due to move into our new property on the 2nd Sept (Monday week). Our sellers have yet to conclude the missives on the property we are buying from them and are insisting on waiting until the missives are completed with their new house purchase which they have assured us is imminent.
Call it a feeling but im not certain everything is OK at their end and im worried that we get into the middle of next week with no further progress.
Is there anything which i could do to influence this or is the above normal occurrence?
Thanks in advance,
Hugh

Badger your solicitor. Get them to call the sellers solicitor and chase it up - that's why you're paying them.
Not to scare you, but we had a purchase agreed, move in date agreed, got our buyers dates aligned etc, then the seller pulled out just as the paperwork was being finalised. Thankfully our buyer was v understanding and we delayed six weeks so we could find somewhere else. IMO our solicitor wasn't as on too f things as he should've been. Get them on the case asap.0
