Hi
Has anyone bought a Philips Lumea? What do you reckon? What colour hair/skin do you have and has it worked?
Thanks
Gwenx

Just bought one last week, used only once and seems to be ok so far. But then I had already had IPL on the area so used as a top-up really. Have yet to try it on a new area. I too would be interested to know others' experience. By the way I have very fair skin with dark hair.0

Ive been researching and it has good reviews as long as you don't have dark skin with dark or red hair. The only thing with a few of them including the lumea is that you can not replace the bulbs so once the bulb runs out you have to throw the hole thing away. But something like the Remington ipl 6000 is from £250 depending where you get it has good reviews and once the bulb runs out you pay around £25 for a replacement rather that having to buy a whole new system at a couple of 100 poundsit might not be much, but its better than a kick in the teeth:rotfl:

I'm not sure how well it'll work for me with my skin/hair colour. I have very fair skin, but when I look at my legs for example, some of the hairs that grow back are dark, but some look quite fair. Same for my underarms. I'm not sure what'll happen with the fair hairs, if that makes sense.
Thanks

I'm quite sure it will work for you, the chart provided with the Lumea indicates that you should use a higher setting for hair that is not so dark.
I have now used it on my armpits once and have to say I am quite happy, the re-grown hair seem to be falling off!! Just need to be regular with it.
I have seen on other threads that it can be bought for a reduced price, I got mine full price from johnlewis and although I see this as a good investment, I wish I could have waited for the savings!0 -
gwen80 - I think we have similar colouring. It works on some areas for me (legs, tum, urgh!) but although my hair seems dark enough it has a ginger tint to it in some lights and these hairs just seem to be left. (annoyingly on my face ) It may not be worth the money for you."I am not a vegetarian because I love animals; I am a vegetarian because I hate plants." A. Whitney Brown0

If anyone is interested, the price has just gone down on Amazon, £250 instead of the usual £2950
