Sometimes, if even doing something regularly, as we are on here, it pays to check the T&Cs every so often in case they have changed. I just pressed the wrong button on my computer while on the APG site and it sent me to the T&Cs.

I notice the following have changed/are new things:

It is always worth checking exclusions carefully. I'm sure those of us on here have done so at the outset; however may not be aware of a change. Regarding which promotions are excluded from the APG, the T&Cs now say:

"15. Multi-buy offers where the individual prices of any of the products included in the offer are different, and offers such as Buy 'X' Get 30p off 'Y', are excluded ..."

This replaces the previous 'promotions that are difficult for MSM to compare'. The latter part of this new condition was present at the outset of the APG - the scenario of the exclusion of 'buy strawberries and get cream free', and the 30p off example is just a variation of that.

However, the first part is new, or at least is significantly different wording. I think this refers to the situation of comparing vs competitor Bogof, 3 for 2 promotions and the like. It was introduced as the 'fix' to the shampoo, Ambrosia, cereal and similar glitches from the huge glitch of last year. Whereby if we bought a cheapo item to compare with others (for example) against a rival's 3 for 2 offer, the APG would glitch with all prices based on the price of the lowest item you'd bought. Because msm has 'trouble' reflecting the prices and apportioning them correctly, items in these offers (where you've tried to compare vs a 3 for 2 or bogof at a competitor involving different-priced items within their mix and match) now all return N/A on the APG.

I think that's what the new rule is referring to. It's been unclear previously (i.e. what was meant by 'promotions that msm finds difficult to compare') and, to me, the new wording is still a little bit unclear. The previous "promotions...which are difficult to compare" was, without more, extremely vague and anyone coming to read it without knowledge of the APG would not have been able to know what it meant. Nonetheless, from my previous experience of the APG, I had some hazy knowledge that it might mean exclusion of promotions where items have different prices. I therefore thought buying a cauliflower and loose broccoli, which were (are not currently) both within a Tosco 2 for £1 offer but different individual prices at T, would be a risk. Then I saw it comparing perfectly on someone else's APG.

The new condition is still a bit unclear to me in this respect. But, from the way the cauli./broccoli combo was comparing, it seems to be that it's relating to the bogofs and 3 for 2s, 4 for 3s, etc., situation. The new rule, whilst not absolutely and completely precise (e.g. about mbuys at rivals that are of the 'any 2 for £x' type), is a lot more clear however and, in my view, shows the transparency with which A operates the APG. So - beware - if you see a competitor bogof (or similar) on msm, press on the competitor's offer to switch to the competitor and bring up all items in the offer for them: check to see their individual prices are consistent throughout.

(As regards Morrisons, it's a little bit different of course in that there's no way of clicking on Msm and seeing what M has and what items are in its offer at what prices - although you can be assured that I am looking for this instore in M: if I see bogofs with items of different prices in them, I'm excluding them but if the prices are all the same, or if the M offer includes only one item, they are getting considered for that list - and will appear if appropriate, e.g. the McV Cake Bars on there at the moment, although why you'd need JC bars...!!:rotfl:)

At this point it may be useful to mention something about Sains BM, which I suspect is not very well known. That is that if a mix and match at the rival (which is either A or T) includes any own brand products, the deal is excluded from BM. I had a good example before Christmas last year (or should that be after Christmas?). Some Kipling mince pies and winter lattice pie (yes, I remember in that level of detail:laugh:) were on a bogof at the rival to S, which made them a fairly decent price each (and I wanted one of each). Sadly, however, an own brand product was also in the mix and match at the rival, and therefore because of that I decided not to risk it. (Would have been good as well in the amount it gave into the rest of the shop and the BM value etc. It obviously messed up my shopping plans, but don't worry I sorted them!)

The other change in the A5da APG terms is one under the first section (on qualifying for the APG).

"...Prices are updated on the [APG] by 12pm each day (except in the case of Morrisons prices, which will normally be updated twice a week on a Wednesday and a Friday – see Term and Condition 17.2). If you shop and check your receipt prior to 12pm, prices may not have been updated .... In exceptional circumstances prices may be updated after 12pm. In this scenario prices reflected on your [APG] comparison will be the prices held for the previous day."

This could be both beneficial and disadvantageous to us. If we are wanting a JC glitch price to continue, it suggests we may be able to shop before noon (check our receipt by noon?) the next day for the 'glitched' price. If however we are waiting for a competitor's new offer to come in, we might want to wait till after noon (shop somewhat after 12 noon?) to try to ensure the new price is in there.

Of course the above is all the theory - things can, as we know, sometimes work differently in practice.

The "12pm" thing is some clue as to when the system is/isn't updated.

And there ends today's sermon...:rotfl::rotfl:. I do not work for A5da BTW, although I do sometimes get mistaken as working for Mr M:rotfl::D.

Have just downloaded the MSL...so can finally join in with everyone! Obviously have Jaffa cakes on my receipts for this week along with the Gastro Fish which I just love!

Am on android app...a question for you, my photos I take to upload appear a little blurry, will they go through ok? All 'normal' photos I take are alright, it is just the ones when using the orange camera icon on this app?

Another question...roughly how often do the 50% cashback deals update on MYS? I haven't been able to find this info.

    Thanks Elite :D

First we have the coupons we hand over, then the APG/PP and now MSL.
I am now honestly getting money back on my shopping:T

Selected items I know but with careful planning could save us all a fortune:)

Just a thought :) dangerous I know:) it will be worthwhile for us to keep an eye out for the coupons in the back of the Boots mags and the Boots points till spits to try and stack up on the Boots MSL offers.

I wasn't sure if all the b&q deals would combine. Like i said though, worth a punt if you have stuff to buy anyway ;)

Always worth a punt. I think that you could probably spend £50 and change your mind so to speak and they would send you the voucher anyway. Maybe , not tried of course. I got 3 for 2 on some paint and a light fitting.
AS last night when OH painting bathroom ceiling the other one crashed onto floor. Thats the second light to break. I think I have bought a money pit. AGAIN !!

Well done on the win. Best thing we had off mcvities was cineworld vouchers. DS took his pal who not been working for a bit to Glasgow one. They seen a film, free juice and popcorn(enough to take home). She was really chuffed cause cinema definitely aint cheap anymore
