  • I always think mum's should be celebrated on the anniversary that they gave birth, so congratulations on the birth of you child I hope that you get spoilt today. I am sure tigercub will have a wonderful day.

Brill, im still a little nervous that they will reject it as they see what im doing but i suppose im entitled to...i once had an 'older lady' (im 28, so forgive me) tell me to not use the divider when i got my shopping at the same time as picking some up for my ma...until i explained then she just muttered something...cheeky moo!
All my shopping is separated out (AvT, maybe an AvS, then an A cheap stuff separately. I'd love SA to say that to me!!!

  • What hand luggage is your mum taking? If she's only taking a light bag/handbag how about instead taking 2 carry on size holdalls stuffed to the gunnels and maximise the 20kg total carry on allowance?

No extra charges to pay ;):money:

Whatever you do, make sure your carry on luggage does not exceed Ryanair limits re size and weight, as they can make you check it if it doesn't comply - you will possibly need to take out a 2nd mortgage if this happens

Mind you I've seen some pretty hefty carry on holdalls being taken on board, never seen anyone refused as yet.

Please dont chance it, and keep to the regulated size:)

has anyone managed to "call" her or has it all been done by email?

I thought of that but mum is like Mary poppins, packs everything but the kitchen sink in!!! I very much doubt she'll be able to stick to her 15kg allowance tbh so her 10kg hand luggage will be maximised for herself. I weighed my bag empty to see how light I can go - and that was 4kg already!! Think i need a Primark shopping outing for a cheap/v. light bag. Failing that, I take a large carrier bag :rotfl::D

I am NOT paying nearly £100 to take my luggage (even though it was a super cheap holiday)

The laundry bags sold in pound land are a good bet.:)

Thanks all for advice. Have texted the buyer and said I will post free of charge. The only reason I said no to cash is I wanted everything to be above board. Thought he might give me dodgy notes. BUT....Didn't even occur to me that someone might claim they hadn't received it! We were supposed to meet at half 3 so I hope he isn't too annoyed.

Can anyone recommend a good courier to send a parcel relatively cheaply and safely? He lives in London too.

    A have it at £6.98
T have it at £3.00 (on better than half price offer)

So essentially, thats A a damn site higher than T so adding £1 of fillers in, i would get 10% cheaper right?

Total A spend £7.98 (Cheese and fillers)
Total T spend £4.00 (Cheese and fillers)

So to be 10% cheaper, A would have had to charge me £3.60...so thats a difference / refund of £4.38...

Just wanted someone to check the math...then I know ill be on the right track...

Parcel2Go are fairly good in my experience...And if you send something big next time, add in their logo to your listing and get % off when you book the courier...they use TNT, DHL, Click+Collect etc I think
