  • What hand luggage is your mum taking? If she's only taking a light bag/handbag how about instead taking 2 carry on size holdalls stuffed to the gunnels and maximise the 20kg total carry on allowance?

No extra charges to pay ;):money:

Whatever you do, make sure your carry on luggage does not exceed Ryanair limits re size and weight, as they can make you check it if it doesn't comply - you will possibly need to take out a 2nd mortgage if this happens

Mind you I've seen some pretty hefty carry on holdalls being taken on board, never seen anyone refused as yet.

I thought of that but mum is like Mary poppins, packs everything but the kitchen sink in!!! I very much doubt she'll be able to stick to her 15kg allowance tbh so her 10kg hand luggage will be maximised for herself. I weighed my bag empty to see how light I can go - and that was 4kg already!! Think i need a Primark shopping outing for a cheap/v. light bag. Failing that, I take a large carrier bag :rotfl::D

I am NOT paying nearly £100 to take my luggage (even though it was a super cheap holiday)

Buy stuff when you get there. If its a beach holiday I remember someone saying "you'll only need bikini bottoms and suncream...."

That's what I think. :D a couple of pairs of shorts/vests, 1 flip flops, some travel sized shampoo that will be left there.

Will wear my jeans, 3 vests, 2 t shirts, a shirt, 2 cardigans and a thin coat for the journey. et voila, no check in luggage :p:rotfl:

  • HUGGIES AND JOHNSONS GLITCHES DON'T WORK

Just been in Boots and bought 9 packs Huggies and 6 individual Johnsons wipes - expected £14 plus about £2 but came to just over £24. Still very good value, just not as good as hoped.
If I had a pound for every pound I'd lost, I'd be confused

Wear everything was going to be my next suggestion :D

Use your mums toiletries or buy them out there, give her some stuff to put in her suitcase (non negotiable ;) be firm), lightweight rucksack so at least the full 10kg is easier to carry

It's surprising how much stuff we take on holiday and don't actually wear, if it's an informal hot holiday you can make do with very little and just wash out things and dry them overnight

Where are you going (just being nosy :) )
