It is so hard not to shop when the shopping is costing us pennies, even when we don't need anymore :rotfl:

My personal view is when it is only costing you pennies go for it! All these 'good' offers stop at sometime - you might as well make the most of it and have a huge store cupboard. Remember health and beauty at tesco I got shed loads but am starting to run out of some items - wish I had bought more. You don'tknow it's good until it's gone imo! I am always regretting not buying enough of a super buy item.

Has anyone done a RAC renewal recently?

Mine has just arrived in the post, £127 - £40.33 (Membership discount = £86.67 payable.

Similar coverage on RAC website seems to be £66.66 (Single) or £90.82 (If I put the wife on the membership too)

If I phone them and cancel, can I then take out a new membership online and be eligiable for Topcashback too?

    Thanks.

    Hi Louise,

Just thinking about your lunchbox dilema :

Would your daughter be happy for you to refil the small fruit shoot bottles?
If so you could buy a pack of 4 and then refil them for a few weeks.

That may be a good idea but she has a tendency to leave them open and bring a soggy lunch box home!

The joys! :) Im off to buy new lunch boxes/bags for DS2 today. 6 weeks of convincing him that his character ones aren't cool for high school has finally paid off.

I bought some Ribena cartons in Sainsbos. £2 for 10. Own brand are probably even cheaper? DS2 is incredibly fussy and will only drink certain drinks for school I buy whatever's on offer between Ribena, Capri sun or fruit shoot. Still costs a fortune though :(

I think my ideal price would be around £1 for 5 drinks to last the week. Then I could buy half a terms worth in one go. I think I'll visit the poundshop in the high street today to see what they can offer, if there is nothing good, the sainsbobs is next door ;)

That same Ribena on an AvS shop would be £1.80 for 10

18p each is better than your ideal 20p each ;)

Capri sun are also £2 for 10 in S so get some of them on AvS shop too. Or just go to sainsbob and pay £2 if you prefer

ETA 8 fruitshoots seem to be £2 everywhere. You could easily do an AvS with a variety of flavours of ribena, capri sun and fruit shoot. Your APG wouldn't be huge. You could even get some cheap fillers like goodfellas pizza for 7p using MSL and face wipes for a profit of 20p :money:

    Exactly.
I'm cursing though as the mountain of fabric softner I got seems to be going down really fast

    No, i meant "were" ;)

I assumed everyone was getting the battered fingers for free with MSL rather than pay 89p for these

I know the 99p comparison price is still a go hence my saying you could get them for 49p now :p

I went to a medium sized Tesco yesterday and something strange happened.

I got the £6 meal deal (2 Korma & 2 Mini rolls) and some other things to make up to 10 items.

Went to the self serve, and started scanning. After I'd scanned the 3rd item (which was a Korma meal) I scanned both the mini rolls, then noticed the screen had something on it for £60  and it was described a 'Mixed Case'.
I hadn't scanned anything for that price, so I pressed the 'cancel item' bit to go up to see what I had scanned, and then called the young SA who 1st looked in my bag to see what I had, then cancelled one of the Kormas (don't know why), then cancelled the £60 'Mixed Case' (I noticed it had an age thingy on it so must be alcohol).
Then the SA re-scanned the Korma for me and left.

We were all baffled as to how this £60 item got on the screen.

The meal deal offer price didn't come off either so I got double the diff back :)

    I got a PP for £2.10.

Another strange thing is that one of the kormas is missing from the PP results?

the first Korma has been cancelled, so you only paid for one,

    lucky you, cs didn't noticed
Fuzzgun - look at the receipt again - they cancelled off one of the meals at £3 so you paid for 1 Korma & 2 spring rolls

How much was your DTD for? You got £1.50 less on the PP than you should have done had they not taken the Korma off.

lol I see what they did - they didn't look at the cancelled Korma so thought you'd paid £9 - so gave you back £6 DTD :)

    Result free meal + £2.10 PP:T

As I said, one of the kormas was cancelled, but then re-scanned further down (has been circled by CS), so the 4 items are all there.

    I got DTD of £6.

I was more concerned that one of the items seemed to change into a £60 case of alcohol, even though I had no alcohol, or anything worth £60 in the shop at all
