So the ipad will work with your current wifi settings but you won't get the 4g speed because your current wifi and 4g are on different frequencies.

iPad - you don't need a mobile SIM to use it on Wifi - you would need a SIM if you wanted to use it out and about where you couldn't get free Wifi (though personally I wouldn't pay for a mobile contract for an iPad but that is me!).
So yes it will work wherever you can get Wifi (hopefully free).

Grrrrr. Sold an old laptop of mine on eBay and I've a feeling the guy who won it isn't going to pay. Hasn't got any feedback or responded to the invoice I sent earlier. Just doesn't feel good.
