    My DD, is 9 years, we are currently going through the diagnosis process, she is high functioning autism/aspergers. We have been attending meetings/courses thoroughly the Autistic society. It has been good to know we are not on our own and the courses have helped us better understand our DD's condition and needs. They also arrange family days out with other families. If it's not something you've already looked into, I'd recommend taking a look at their website and see what's available in your area.
