I hope it is an exaggeration and an extreme case - but I know from my own experience of drinking diet coke that it does make me want to continue eating, so I know that side of things with the use of sweeteners does prepare the body for thinking its getting something to eat and would probably be better off having 2 sugars in my cup of tea. Hubby just asked if I wanted a hot drink....I hesitated but then said yes....I have 4 sweeteners in tea and coffee.
