It was for this very reason I offered to get and purchased umpteen bags of reduced compost for friends and family when I got my 10 boxes of JC ;) . Woman SA did scan receipt carefully when I had an APG of nearly £12 with it, but as my cash payment was for over £20 it didn't look quite so drastic. Then she said 'I don't know if I can put this through!'. I just casually said 'I've done then before, it's ok, you scan it and it will ask you to input amount' almost like I worked in another store :p ...... She paused, looked round a bit, noticed store quite busy and she had a queue, so tried scanning it and guess what..... it asked her to input amount which thankfully she did. It's such a good job most of us know more then the staff do. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Oh that wouldn t work here. They re all frightened to death there. I tend to get defensive and annoyed as though they are accusing me of being a thief and I have a sharp tongue if the need arises. They re all polite sorry this and sorry that but they aren t . Who are they trying to kid.

    Nope, 'fraid not

stores such as those have different overheads, are more about convenience than price, eg can't fairly compare S local with T extra blah, blah

Express stores are different as they are convenience stores. T's express don't compare either and are dearer on most stuff. :(

You'd think they could compare the expresses against each other wouldn't you, especially against the Morries one which is supposedly the same price as the main stores :D Talking of which, mullers are/were 34p aren't they? Only the new local that's just opened has them at 36p...

I don't think it matters where you live. I've been trouted in stores hundreds of miles apart.

It's a shame the English attitude is as such - what I wouldn't give for attitudes like those on Extreme Couponing fromt he states. :A

Yes I guess so but all 4 main supermarkets are pests here and changing the rules every 5 minutes

Hey guys....Just been out for Rustlers......STAY AWAY from Sainsburys Express stores as they don't seem to price match and they are dearer than the bigger stores..Would it be worth contacting Customer Services to get a price match?
no point contacting them. as it says in t/c that they don't match
