  • Anyway, some usefull advise and things said there (Despite one or two unhelpful comments).
You will all be pleased to know that I have decided to settle for something cheaper, and then maybe work up to what I really want in a year or two's time.
    Thanks Guys.

Your actually incorrect - I havent agreed a sale with the buyer, I have asked the buyer what the lowest he would take for it, and he has said £4500.
    Two different things!!!

From what you've posted, it looks as though you need to be looking at a cheaper car, and then will need to save up for the next one.

If you do find a loan, it'll likely be at quite a high rate.

The normal way that most people buy cars is that they work out what they can afford first, and how much they are happy to spend, and then find the nicest car that they can get for that price. As you've seen, going about it the other way round is problematic.

Edited to say, I see that our posts crossed. Great news, you've made the right choice.

    Very good decision....

Now... you were going to be repaying a loan if you had got one. Use that money you are no longer repaying the loan with and put it in an ISA or some other meagre savings account.
Let it build until you can buy the next one with cash.

I'll put money on the fact that when you have £4,500 in your savings account there is no way in this World you will empty it for a car.
