Very.co.uk account payment by credit card

Hi, was just wondering if I can make a little cheeky use of the wisdom and experience of any of you lovely people here to plan ahead:

Can I safely pay off my Very.co.uk account's Buy Now Pay Later purchase (or Take 3 payment, or minumum payment) by my credit card ON THE DAY IT'S DUE, and still avoid the interest? I ask because I can always see it on my Very account straight after I've made a credit card payment as "payment £x received - thanks", but I don't want to fall prey to any sneakiness where they come back and say "you only SUBMITTED the credit card payment to us on the due date, but it has to have gone through our processing systems completely BY that date".

Say my Very account tells me I need to pay "by 18th September", and my new month's credit card statement is generated ON that particular day, is it totally safe to pay it then, (as long as it's submitted successfully, of course)? How about that evening (after 6pm)? Has anyone here done that and avoided the interest? Bear in mind I'm not talking about my Very statement date, as that comes several days after the requested payment date.

I know I really should have tested it out before in a month where the interest charges wouldn't have been eye-watering! If I can get the all-clear to pay on the date it's due, it just helps me out immensely as I'd obviously have another month in order to get the money together to pay it off my credit card balance then, and still not have incurred any interest on it.

Probably a bit of a n00b question really, so if anyone can confirm it one way or the other for me from personal experience, that'd be fantastic.

    Hi,
I have a very account and I'm sure on mine it says payment needs to be received 3 days before to allow for clearing.

If I pay littlewoods it comes off my amount straight away but when statement comes it shows as processed days later and I have fallen for this a few times and they charge me - as above better to pay 3 days before due date.

    Okay, ta for the advice.

I think what I'm going to do is check the date that my last credit card payment I made to the account shows as having been received on my next Very statement, and then work out from that the absolute latest day I can pay it off (taking into consideration non-working days and all that) - I've made a note of the time and day I submitted the payment, so I'll just wait & see what the exact difference is. With any luck, I might still be able to sneak the payment onto that brand new month's credit card statement!! :D

Anyone here know how long Barclaycard payments take to be charged to your account? I've often seen amounts show in the 'pending' section for a while, but it's another thing I've never really tested out that would be extremely useful to know for sure. If you timed your credit card purchase so that it was submitted before, but finally cleared JUST after your new statement had been issued (i.e. that same day), that would show on the next month's statement, right? Sounds obvious, but I've noticed that the payments on there show the date that they were originally submitted, and not the date they finally appeared on the statement.
