They charge the company more as they have to pay employers NI on you and its a fee also for admin charges. Did you know that?

What's your travel expenses got to do with anything? You should have negotiated a higher rate before you took the job.

Er. Yes. I think i've got enough of a brain to know they have to charge more, but almost DOUBLE? come off it. They can find some other mug to finish the assignment. I will do till the end of the week, then they can find someone else. There is no way i'm travelling 3 hours a day for £7.00 per hour. Thanks for your "help" anyway.

So you never know you were on £7 a n hour till you started? Is that what you are saying? Or you are !!!!ed they get 12.95 for you? That's how these things work and you would know that. As said here is not a big margin at all. An agency could charge £25 and you could only get £9 that's pretty normal

You want to check you haven't got to give a week if you have signed something.

I thought that if they pay you £10.00 per hour, they charged about £13.00 per hour. Or thereabouts. NOT DOUBLE. THAT IS TAKING the mickey.
How does the agency make £ then?

I don't get people who get stroppy cause the replies are not what they want to hear.

You were offered a role at £7 and took it
You know how long it takes to get there and how much it will cost so took the job

Now you know they get £4.95 to administer the payroll and wow make a few quid on you as a profit you have having a got at us?

Good luck with leaving the role then if you have agreed to complete the term.

Its not a case of you not using the agency anymore - you aren't doing them a favour.

Lol, no people are just reasonable in what their expectations are of working.

You bargain for your worth and they will bargain for as little as they can pay. As you have done if you don't like the offer you don't work and they get someone else to do the job for the amount.

Remember as well that long term contracts will work of a lower margin than say your two week one....it makes sense for a 12 month contract which is guaranteed to only have a 20-25% margin but a 2 week on to be nearer 50%.

So you have no grasp on the cost of labour, don't go hating on others for your ignorance. It costs a normal employer about double what they pay the employee. So if an employee is on $7 and hour, the company will have costs (tax etc) + labour of about $13.

Why 52p? The government recommends 45p?
