Does anyone have experience with nationwide? quick, slow?

Husband and I have an aip and going in on Friday to fill out the application.

What should I take with me to make sure it gets approved as quickly as poss

I've got:

Id
Bank statements
List of direct debit
Proof of address
Budget
P60s
Pay slip.

Well I've been waiting 5 weeks so far. I think you need to allow 6-8 weeks minimum if you want to remain sane. One annoying thing is that they tend to ask for stuff later on which causes delays. So I would supply everything you can think of, whether they ask for it or not.

I got my mortgage offer within about three weeks but I have a current account with them and I told my broker I was in a hurry. Once they did the valuation, we got the offer the same day.
