logs for woodburning stove in glasgow area

I was just wondering if anyone knew where to get cheap logs near the south side. We used to live in the middle of nowhere in lancashire and a tree surgeon would deliver a truck load for 40 pounds. Does anyone know aqnyone who does this in glasgow/?????

u should ask for them on freecycle bertie, it,s amazing how many people are lobbing the trees in their gardens down. You would have to collect likely, thats the only problem. What about the parks dept? Do you live in the queenspark area or even roukenglen park, might be worth asking.

thanks i'll try freecycle. we live near bellahouston and pollok park but i was told they tend to re use logs elc for chippings, but i'll ask again!
