Can I just add (cos we missed it) the save to buy mortgage is only a 5% deposit that then qualifies for cash back, any larger deposit would need to be a different mortgage so no cashback.
    Booo!!!

    Hello all,

I am hoping someone knows the answer to this!

I have about 10,000 in the Save to buy scheme-5% at £200,000

If I wss to get a house worth 150,000 would my percentage go up or would I be able to use the extra money for other things- stamp duty for instance?

this wil help define my saving strategy for the next few months as I want a 5% mortgage and to use any extra for the additional expences.
    thanks in advance

Yes this is fine, we had excess money in the save to buy, when it comes to exchanging you just shut the account down in branch and the money is transferred to your current account, leaving you to spend it how you wish (as long as your solicitor gets the 5% deposit required :) )
