Do you C&P a lot of comp tweets? I used to until May (I was a bit of a C&P spammer for not far off 2 years with no problem), got suspended 3 times in a week, even though I had stopped C&P after first suspension. After third time asked them to check my feed as I was only doing original company RT's, had no problem since but rarely C&P now.
Also have a friend who doesn't enter a quarter the amount of comps I do, and for weeks, was getting suspended every Friday morning, they told her she was being reported by several of her followers. She used to do the odd C&P and she has continued to do so, but has had no further problems.
I don't think anyone will be able to give you a definite answer for why you were suspended, as Twitter doesn't really give you a set criteria, you probably aren't doing anything wrong xx

Are you using Twitter just for competitions? Generally speaking, a profile needs to show two way communication, by having others "follow" and @reply you. There's a thread on here with other MSE twitter usernames to follow to help with this.

Try and space out your comps on Twitter too, I believe there is a limit on the number of RTs per hour.

I got exactly the same message within 24 hours of starting on twitter and had only retweeted.

I was advised to mix in some ordinary tweets amongst the comping ones, and get some followers. Since doing both I have had no problems despite still doing stacks of retweets for comps.

If you find you need to complain to a company, do it by twitter and kill 2 birds with 1 stone!
  • thank you all for your help.

i have only copied and pasted 1 or 2 times. i have retweeted quite alot within a short space of time so maybe thats why?

i am following a few from the twitter thread on here, but maybe i need to mix in some other tweets.
im still only just getting the hang of it all so not sure what else id tweet and who to? any suggestions welcome:)

If you RT lots in a short space of time you usually get sent to "Twitter Jail" and do not get suspended. (Twitter Jail is where you cannot RT or tweet for a couple of hours & doesn't involve suspension, even now I go to jail occasionally :rotfl:). My account is comps only but last few months I do occasionally chat to a couple of people, but because of regular jail time, I tend to chat via DM mostly to try and avoid jail.

wonder why i got suspended then? thought that might have been the reason?

it said: suspended for sending multiple unsolicited mentions to other users.....whatever that means???

If you see a winner has been announced, you could tweet to the winner and the company running the competition, saying something like "well done - great prize", or you could just check your twitter feed and see if anyone says something like "anyone won anything lately?" and respond to that, or ask a similar question yourself, or just say something about the weather.
