These are the hangers and tops I have made, presents on a budget!Expecting Baby No 1 - 20/06/14 - Team Yellow!0 -
I wasn't even aware you were supposed to buy them gifts! But then I wasn't aware bridesmaids were supposed to fund their own dresses either, so I suppose if you make them pay it's only fair to give them a gift in return.
We're paying for the bridesmaid's dresses and jackets for the best men. We're having a very informal wedding with no dress code, so we want them to be able to wear whatever other clothes/accessories they already have so they still look them themselves and are comfortable.
Hopefully they will all like the dresses and jackets and they can be their gift as such- but if not they are free to do whatever they like with them.
I like the idea of jewellery, nail polishes and lipsticks for the girls but it's no good for me as not all of my bridesmaids wear that sort of thing. If I was going to do gifts I'd probably just buy everyone a nice bottle of their favourite tipple.0 -
For my wedding, we bought flowers for my mum, husband's mum and step mum, £20 each, we had pew ends which we gave to grandparents and laid two on people's graves, about £10 each but obv we had them in the church and didn't really have anything to do with them afterwards so thought it was nicer to give them away.
For the best man we bought him some best man socks haha and some cufflinks, in total about £20, the ushers all had ushers socks, about £3 each on ebay, and the bridesmaids we had personalised cards made and bought them a bracelet each, cost about £15 I think each... Also bought my chief bridesmaid and best friend a little gift from next, think it was £8.
Looking back it is actually a bit ridiculous lol spending all the money for the day etc and then buying pressies, it's such an extra expense!Married my wonderful husband on 8/9/12 :j0 -
We have bought pressies for bridesmaids and best men but these will be given the night before the wedding so we havent got the mums and dad presents to give out at the wedding. Not planning on having speeches either which is usually when the gifts are given. We also bought the bridesmaids dress and shoes and paid for best men kilt hire.

All the men - suit hire paid for, and individual cufflinks. (We were gonna get "Best Man, FotB, Usher" cufflinks, but thought they wouldn't be able to wear them again, so the best men got lego heads wearing top hats in a lego presentation box. Dad got Dan Dare (his favourite comic), and my bro got Space Invaders (always been a game nut).)
Mum - paid for her make-up
Page boys - paid for suits to keep
Flower girls - paid for dresses to keep, plus cute little baskets with teddies in.
Bridesmaids - dresses to keep, jewellery, shoes for one (the other had awesome cat shoes), and red heart frilly umbrellas (impulse buy for photos!)
The one who got us together - a box with flowers coming out the top, made up of Matchmakers boxes.
We were working to a budget, and nobody expected anything, but they were pleased with little surprises.0 -

Hi, how did you do those lovely tops for £4.50? It'd be awesome to have 2 for my BMs and one for me. I don't think I could do the lettering myself though!0
