Natwest mortgage process

Hi all, I wonder if someone could help me out please with Natwest mortgage process.
Myself and OH applied for full application about 2 weeks ago with all the full details of the information required etc payslips, p60, passport etc. Last Friday, we had a call from Natwest requesting my OH to take her passport to one of the branches for verification, mine was never requested.
Today I rang Natwest for an update and was told that I will need to sign an ' anti impersonation letter' which has already being put in post. Natwest also claim they have requested a copy of the valuation transcript from the valuer ( property is in Glasgow Scotland) and once they have all an offer should be out soon.
Does this mean I passed the credit check and Natwest are willing to lend me? I checked my equifax report on Saturday and I noticed a search has been conducted on me by Natwest showing 'Opt in' also my OH is linked to me financially which wasn't the case before.
Does anyone has an idea of Natwest process? does it mean I should expect offer soon subject to valuation?
Many thanks all

would be interesting to hear a reply, i am planning to go through natwest for my application in the coming few months. Good to see they use equifax as their credit check.

    thanks

Hi 9Ice, welcome to the board.

Everything you've mentioned above is in keeping with what we had to do in our application with Nat West last month, including going in to a branch to witness ID. We were asked to sign the anti-impersonation docs afterwards just as you were, then things proceeded to valluation, and were approved a few days later. I remember that the approval seemed very quick as soon as we had got the documents together (which was far more of a hassle!) and I was impressed with their service overall.

    Hope this helps!

Hi Morgana, thank you so much for this.
Do you have any idea how long it took to receipt the anti impersonation letter from Natwest?

We got the anti impersonation letters in about a day or 2 and sent them straight back. Got a valuation done 2 days later.

Thanks Swanny, so all things being equal at ' anti impersonation stage' one would have passed through the credit checks and underwriters issues?

Not long at all - they sent all the remaining paperwork as soon as our IDs had been verified. You could well get an answer before the week is out!

yes they do not usually instruct a valuation unless they are happy with the credit and affordability checks. However they can do additional searches at any time so don't go applying for credit, miss payments or anything until you have completed.
