I have 13 guinea pigs, and go through more newspapers for their hutch then I and my close family read. Does anywhere give away out of date papers free?

try the council re-cycling centres, see if they wouldn't mind you taking old newspapers out of the recycling bins/skips.. Most of them are covered so the newspapers should be dry.0

It's worth trying but I wouldn't be too optimistic. The councils sell this material on so it's a revenue stream for them and the price of paper has only gone up in the last few years.0

No chance
My experience is they own everything left in for recycling and will not entertain giving it away again0 -
Would wood shavings not be OK? if so try some saw mills or joinery businesses for these..0

Are there any retirement/care homes in your area? As they tend to have lots of residents they often end up sending lots of newspapers for recycling.
One of our local ones donates all their papers to a nearby animal charity, who collect them.
So perhaps worth asking, but you'll have to be prepared to go and collect them.0 -
Don't mind collecting - I drive and live in a large town.
Thanks for the ideasc:j got married 3rd May 2013 :beer:0
