applying for a credit card and loan in the same month?

My husband and I took out the Barclay card Reward credit card last month purely for getting the rewards as a bonus instead of always using our debit cards with nothing in return. We are paying the card off in full each month by DD however, we are looking to purchase a new family car and need a loan to top up our deposit, but will taking out the CrC recently affect our chances of being accepted?

The loan we want to apply for is with our main current account provider and the account the DD is set up from to pay the CrC bill.

It could have an effect. But if it was only a single application and given that he is applying with his own bank I suspect it won't make a massive difference.
