Self certified sickness around a bank holiday

Hi all
I'm currently self cert sickness this week due to a back problem caused by pregnancy
I'm hoping the pain will ease over the next few days but if I take say the rest of this week off and use my 5 days self cert, and class myself as ready to return to work on Monday - will the fact that Mon is a bank holiday mean I will need a sick note / fit note to cover me for that bank holiday if I'm not scheduled to work it and resume duties on Tuesday, or will the bank hol Mon not count either way?
I don't think I'm down to work it yet but that could change before the end of the week.
I'm hoping to be back at work by then but just want to get myself covered just in case.

A self cert only covers the shifts you work in a 7 days period (inc BH's and weekends)

Hi I first called in yesterday so today is my 2nd day
Seeing midwife on Thurs and Doctor Friday if necessary to discuss
So do you think if I return to work after the bank hol (say Tues) I will need a sick note to cover me for Monday even though I'm
Not scheduled to work it?
I work a Mon-Fri week usually, so unless otherwise advised I don't work weekends or bank hols.0 -
So Sunday is your last day of Self Cert, thus, if they put you on duty on Monday and you cannot make it in you will need to call in sick, goto the Dr's tuesday and get it back dated to cover the Monday.
If you are not down to work Monday then no, however as its shifts that can be moved around by the looks of it then surely it would be best to talk to the employer and say that you are likely going to have to self cert till X, could you move your shifts away from Y?
As its Pregnancy related the employer and Dr should have no problems with this.Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
Thank you that clears things up a bit. Just want to cover myself as I am rarely off sick and like to have every thing in order.0
