Mobile phones . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 35.00 This seems a little excessive, mine is about £10.00, but I called them up and told them I wanted to cancel because it was too expensive, I had actually seen a better deal pricewise but if they could match it I'd rather not have the inconvenience of having to switch (didn't tell them this bit, just that they were too expensive), they beat the deal pricewise and gave me extra internet I'd suggest maybe calling them up and trying to get £10-£15 off £22.50

I could try Cabriolean but I started a new 2 year contract with 3 in June. I could try and lower my plan. I have unlimited texts and data and 2000 minutes. I think I use 500 data a month at most and never use all my minutes. I text loads though. I have an iPhone 5 and did not have to pay anything for it so, again, I'm not sure they would let me reduce my monthly plan but I can and will ask.

    Regular saving. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 45.00 You'll be able to save more for him if you repay your debts sooner and pay less interest, you'll save more for him in the end by not saving for him now £0.00

Yes - you are right. I'm going to do this straight away. Also when my daughter gets a job - hopefully very soon - I will add to this the £80 I give her.

My main money saving target is shopping, eating out, visits to Costa and always taking lunch to work.

Thank you Cabriolean for taking time to help me. I very much appreciate your suggestions and everyone else who has taken time to respond. You are all fab and I feel much more positive. Tuna pasta bake for tea. Savers pasta 29p, tin of sweet corn, tin of tuna, jar of sauce £1 and a little cheese. I am trying but I'm sure I could do better.

Gosh, how many in the house? you are spending £570 just on food without including the pets.

Try having a look at the old style board for how to cut back.

Sorry, that was a typo, should be £520, still a fair bit:o
Tallyhoh! Stopped Smoking October 2000. Saved £29382.50 so far!

A slight set back today. Checked my internet banking to see how much money I have left of overdraft until pay day on 28th. My mobile phone bill had come out and it was nearly double the usual amount at £66!!!. Couldn't understand it as I have unlimited data, 5000 texts and 2000 call minutes allowance as well as 5000 3 to 3 minutes. I had let my partner borrow my phone as he had 'broken' his Iphone 4S (on contract - over a year left - it's a long story!) to make a few calls. I ring 3 who explain that there was a 10 minute call to 118 118 on 27th - the day his car was written off and he was ringing for numbers for a car recovery company. In his distress, he must have not ended the call. Gutted! I never ring directory ever so I know it's him.

Is your eldest getting JSA? Would this reliece you of giving her money every month?

I make your household expenses about £1500 so your partner is contributing roughly in proportion to his income. But with your car, elder children and debts it seems he may actually have more disposable income than you do. Are some of your debts from family expenses or times when he was out of work and not contributing? Could he help pay them off now?
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.
