Ch 4 News - Presenter gets a right drubbing...

A couple of small business people telling the media type off for the usual rubbish memes, immigrant labour, 0 hours contracts, house prices, etc.

Good to see common sense in action.

  • Absolutely brilliant, Hamish. That Eden Project guy should get on Newsnight and have a go at the Pac Man.

Best thing is when she's finished, with egg on her face, and puts the lifejacket on to get in the boat, she moves carefully onto the deck saying "..I wouldn't want to fall flat on my face..."

    Well you just did, dearie!

PS: I suspect she has some chip on her shoulder. Can't afford to have her hair done properly.

It was a discussion that would be at home on this forum. Rubbish memes battled with made up ancedotes with a bit of prejudice thrown in to spice it up. Neither side achieved anything and the whole thing was a waste of time for everyone involved. Long may it continue.

Clearly they are not impressed with it as its no longer available on 4OD at that link. Maybe temporary.....
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

I thought she was very brave to place herself so close to the River in a heated argument
Ch4 is the best news, at least they dont merely skim the reuters feed and actually do their own news point of view even if you disagree with their points

she clearly had a hidden agenda
Its not uncommon to blame immigration for labour and even housing problems. It might even be a majority? Not just this country, anywhere outsiders are seen as causing negatives in an economy, culture, etc. I think you mistook that as a personal view, its a cliche sure
