Hi Savings and Happy New Year. Yes, this is my aim, but currently, my plan is to focus on paying down the mortgage. I am not as young as I was and am unable to do too many things at once - it means I achieve nothing.
So, today, I made a move on one of the things on my list - I had a conversation with the organiser of the local charity I wish to work for. Hopefully, this will be progress well. Due to Covid and the repercussions of Covid, they have moved to working online remotely - using Teams and telephone more. This has led to the loss of many of their older volunteers, so they are in need of more help. So, I will take this forward as soon as I get the actual application form.
I made another effort to try and sort the spare room - but not getting very far. But, I have started collecting more stuff together to take to the Charity shop as it is too good to go to the tip. Hopefully, someone might get some use from it all. What I do not give, you must never take by force.

I managed to list an outfit on ebay yesterday, so very pleased with that. Somehow, I have a mental block on this. Anyway, another step in the right direction. I plan to list another item today, but will see if I actually follow through.
Mid argument with the vet insurance. Why do we bother? They want to know who the vet was for a period of 9 months last year. They have all the details but can't account for this 9 month. Perhaps there was nothing wrong with the cat which is why there was no record at that point? If they refuse to pay, I will be so annoyed. Why pay for insurance when they use an excuse to get out of it? I have already paid for the diagnosis - over £500 - just claimed for this back. Kitty is doing ok now, suffering from hyperthyroidism, so lifelong illness. What I do not give, you must never take by force.

That does sound irritating.

Ah. I am the embodiment of 'manyana'. Haven't really started looking beyond the superficial. I tend to wait until something forces my hand, so playing the waiting game. Story of my life. Waiting for something to spur me into action.
The positive is that Kitty is doing ok with his forever medicine, even if I haven't heard back from the insurance company. They are probably drafting my refusal letter as I type. As I have said in the past, the only reason I am in the fortunate position to have the savings to pay for the treatment is because of this website, forcing me to take control of my budgeting and expenditure. I can't even imagine what I would do if I couldn't afford to pay for his veterinary care.
Managed to list some shoes on ebay and had another NSD. Thinking that I need to stop eating from the freezer and preserve as much food as possible, considering how much the cost of living has increased recently. I may really need that food at a later date.
Well, knock me over with a feather - today had a catch up with my manager, who confirmed I will be staying for another year. So, employment until 2023 and revisit then. Aaannnnddd relax...What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Thank you Savings and greent, it's fantastic news and allows me time to stop and just get on with life, rather than worrying. I can worry in a years time. Plus, I can't be doing that bad at work, or he wouldn't have kept me on! So, it will mean 3 years in a temporary consultancy job by 2023. That's longer than some of the permanent positions I have held.
Really like the idea of tracking the ebay sales to show how much I have raised 'a al' greent, so I will put in on my footer. Hopefully, this will spur me to actually list more things. My cunning plan - I will check my ebay listing and start from 1 January to give me a boost. I think I will do it gross as opposed to nett though, won't be worth talking about otherwise!
Still no word from the Insurance company. What I do not give, you must never take by force.
