My quotes usually reflect how I am feeling at the time.

This quote is from Dolly Parton.  It is such a happy, uplifting quote.  It make me smile every time I think about what it is saying about me and how others perceive me.

Enjoying the fruits of my labour with lovely open fires utilising my nice new lined chimney.  Shame the scaffolding is still up and waiting for the outside of the chimney to be repaired.  But to be fair, the weather has been absolutely awful.  Hopefully it will stop raining at some point.  On the plus side, I am not using that much gas running the central heating.

The thing I like about ebay is the opportunity to see how much people are selling stuff for, things you own and would never think as having a value.  So, I have an original Dismaland programme and 'I am an inbecile' balloon that I have framed and displayed in my bedroom, along with a map of the theme park.  The only thing I can say is 'silly money'.  Nice to know they are collectable though.  If I ever get totally skint, I can sell them and get enough to live for a week or two.

Money is definitely getting a bit tight at the moment, but this is only because I am aware it is nearly Christmas and I have to start considering Christmas presents.  Hopefully, next year will be better all round, in every way.

Great that your memorabilia has a value... A week or two's money!!! Wow!!

Glad you've got your nice fire going. Was it the one you showed us a picture of? Hope you manage to get the rest of the work done soon. It hasn't been great weather at all though - I gather there has been flooding in some parts...

Yes, that's the one.  Its doing really well at warming the house, so can't complain.

Yes, I believe 2 weeks money, assuming I am not spending like an idiot.  But with all thing, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay.  So, someone would have to want to buy them all at the point I want to sell.  Anyway, they provide me with some great memories of the day out, but I don't need items to remind me of the fun I had.  I can remember it without the items.  Luckily, I am not in need of money at the moment, so I get to keep them for a rainy day.

The flooding here has been really bad, everything is waterlogged.  The price you pay for living in such a green area.

Long-time lurker emerging from the shadows here Tallulah.  Love your diary. I always wonder what sort of dance the money shuffle is: a military 2-step; the Hokey-Cokey; the polka? Or maybe the bottom shuffle?  Hope the last is an OK term these days.  You are doing brilliantly love Humdinger x

@Tahlullah.H thanks! You too @savingholmes...I do think a sense of humour is essential when beating down debt.  You will get there; it's the alternating colourless routine and hair-bleaching emergencies that can leave you exhausted and discouraged.  Spending then looks like a way to vary the monotony but we know the pitfalls.  It took me years to pay off 100k of debt.   I now have no debt, an emergency fund and a totally different outlook; with rising prices am going to think about how much we spend on food.  Want to eat well, sustainably but also want to avoid waste. Love Humdinger x
