Hi GT and TG. I can't imagine being a person who makes a living, has a business selling things on ebay. I think you must have a particular temperament for it. Anyway, it's good that everyone is managing to declutter and make a bit of income on the side. As they say, every little helps. It never occurred to me to put a financial target on my sales. Perhaps I should, but that would then obligate me to find other things to sell. Decisions, decisions.
Just got my house insurance quote through. It is lower than last year. I'm not even going to try shopping around. They were great last year, the process was smooth, easy and pleasant. And this year it comes with the added bonus of being cheaper, so I will just go with it. Not very MSE I know, but sometimes, it's not about saving money, it's about quality. In a good place as I have the money to pay for it outright.
Kitty has been bitten on his leg by something. Licking it to death, so I have treated him to some antiseptic spray and a collar to prevent him licking it. It's inflatable, and definitely better than those buckets the vets use. Anyway, just watching to see how he progresses. If it looks like it may become infected, off to the vet we go. Luckily, he does have insurance.
Prolific Academy not doing much at the moment. Not progressed past the £10.00, but then again, I am not sat staring at the computer all day.
Have £11.00 in Nectar points, so something to use at Christmas.
Have £98.00 in Top Cashback. Again, there for Christmas.
Have £43.00 in Tesco's points, again, there for Christmas.
I guess everything is going in the right direction. Still need a cleaner though!

I want my cleaner back too!!! Well done on the bay stuff. You are paying more off your mortgage than you originally planned. Love the age 55 plans too. Keep reminding myself my time will come and need to find ways to ensure I enjoy the present tooAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Spent part of the morning doing the money shuffle. Specifically moving small change to keep the accounts neat. Not sure what it achieves, but it makes me feel better and the accounts have a semblance of symmetry.
Sold 3 items on ebay, so spent a good period of time packing boxes to be collected tomorrow. Listed another 3 items to balance the sold items.
Bought a new canopy/ fabric cover for the garden parasol. Not very money saving but still saves having to buy from scratch.
Looked to switch - again - this is the 3rd provider I have tried. At some point, one of them will figure this problem out. 1st world problems.
Not getting any work done at all. I am lacking motivation and interest. No doubt, I will have to get round to it at some point. This is exactly why I never wanted to or enjoyed working at home in the past. I was honest enough to accept and acknowledge that I wouldn't be very productive and lo, it came to pass.
Looking at joining more survey sites. I live in the hope that as I make small amounts, I don't have to spend from the money in my account. This theory seems to be working to a point.
I found a £10.00 note in my purse. It has been in there since the beginning of April. No-one takes cash any more, so I am going to monitor how long I will keep it locked away with the moths before it eventually gets spent. 2.5 months and counting. What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Hi Tahlullah - I was productive working from home with some time in the office but this is an unprecedented amount of time for all of us - and with everyone home - my peace and quiet (the best bit) evaporated so I have been struggling too. We have invested in noise cancelling headphones recently that are helping though. We have cash too - like you found no-one wants it so when this is over likely to have £60-70 in cash left!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

A fantastic amount of money just left lying around not being spent SH! No doubt it will come in useful later on when life returns to the new normal.
In relation to ebay, it has definitely slowed to a trickle. Oh well, I had a good run. Still doing Prolific. At £17.00 now. Might be a while before I get to purchase a holiday with the earnings!
Nothing happening with my accounts. This is good. It means I am within budget across all accounts. Such a great feeling to be completely in control of my finances. What I do not give, you must never take by force.

I was motivated with pr0lific last year and made an average of just over £20/mth when doing it - but that's without being tied to laptop and having teh browser extension (only in chr0me) which alerts you to surveys. Still not an amount to be sniffed at, though
Must get back on it - I've done a few recently, but have only been checking from my phone, and a lot aren't possible to do without going on laptop

Hi Tahlullah
I am all caught up with your diary and your productivity with your plans for the future and decluttering now is inspiring
I am so pleased to be up to date.
I'm sorry you're finding it hard to be work motivated whilst working at home. I'm finding it hard to be work motivated and i am still going to work - it is a challenge! I think for you though it sounds like you maybe have less to do than usual - and i agree it can be hard to summon the energy and enthusiasm when this is the case. If you don't have to work for a set number of hours a day then would it help to set a timer (i have a good old fashioned one in the kitchen for cooking) and spend 20 minutes (for example) completely focused on a work task and then get up and do something else eg wash the pots, list an item for sale etc. and then start the next 20 minutes or so. I do this sometimes but that's at home when there's a big task to do and i want to break the time down and achieve other things too.
