Overpaid £200 this month, so now owing £27,000. So, 27 more payments before I am mortgage free.

That is fantastic news not long to go now. How's Rufus we have not heard about him recently. My Thomas decided to play with a shoelace hanging down behind the wardrobe door at 4.20am. Do love him though.

Gosh you are so near now, I am impatient too and worry that I don't make enough progress but I have been really inspired by all the small payments they really do make a difference. Brilliant work on the car too.

Thank you all for the support and for bothering to read my ramblings. It really is appreciated.

Rufus is fine. He decided to wake me up this morning at stupid o'clock with claws out. Oh, the joys of cat ownership. I think he is just a bit stir crazy, hasn't had a good run out for a while, but will get a chance to go mad when we go to the house for the holiday. It's that, or raging hormones!

    Getting sooooooo close :)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

Just to clarify, I havent really paid off an extra grand in a month. All I did was pay 1 penny! So now, I no longer owe £28,000, but £27999.99. Moves me in to a different bracket, and so closer to paying it all off.

The untidyness of it really gets my goat, but I understand it more. I owe 27k, not 28k.

    It's the little things...

Totally with you on that!! Psychologically, it makes a massive difference! :D

Every time I get down into a lower thousand bracket, it renews my enthusiasm and motivates me to keep it at the forefront of my mind and do a little bit better ;)

Nothing moneysaving to report, but Rufus did come in with a Magpie!

Luckily, it was uninjured so it flew away once separated from his jaws around it's neck.

Interesting start to the day, trying to catch a magpie flying around your living room!

I remember trying to do that with our old cat, it ended up behind our bed with the bird - still alive, feathers everywhere. Horrible. It seemed uninjured when we finally caught it and released it. It wasn't there a few hours later.

Could have been dinner though (although I suppose you would have needed 23 more magpie for a proper pie :D )
