Not been on in ages....had an awful month!
I was signed up to the July yomping challenge with my Royal Marine son an honorary mascot and things just went wrong from halfway through July!
I was doing OK until my son came home on leave. The first day back he answered the door to a debt collecter....yes one turned up for arrears of just £67
He was actually very nice and pleasant though and the visit ending very well with the CC finally accepting my token payment and saying they will refund interest...that hasn't happened yet.
Then another card are threatening me with court and have fired off some more letters to them
Then my son went on holiday to Germany in his car and had an accident which financially has written the car off but thankfully he is OK and didn't need any medical treatment.
The pump on my boiler has packed up so that needs renewing before winter or ill freeze again
On the upside, my daughter is coming home for a year or so and as soon as she has a job, I will get some extra in the way of board

Wow, not good....
Debt collector v marine....I wonder who would come off worse
What's the debt for and who with? That's very low for a personal call.
Hope things improve

My son stood behind me with his arms folded looking the part, that was enough LOL.
The debt collector did say he had never had to do a home visit for such a low amount before. It's a Barclaycard that I owe approx 2.5 K but have been making token payments. Hopefully it's sorted now as stated on the phone. Can't remember the company he worked for but he was extremely polite, non hassling an kept his voice quiet. He asked if I could pay it now, I said no and he said ok then!

They often do this to try and make you ring them. Usually they hope the threat of a visit will do the job.
I would follow up what you agreed with them in writing and ask for written confirmation from them.
Banks conveniently forget about phone calls, can't forget about a letter in your hands

How old is your boiler, can you get the whole thing replaced with the warm grant scheme (sorry can't remember the exact name)
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

My boiler was replaced last year but as the pump was working I decided to save money and keep it. It didn't last long and now needs doing, packed up totally but at least should be reasonably chep as its just the pumpLBM.....sometime in 2013 £27,056. 10 creditors
