Quick jam storage question please?

I am hoping to make some blackberries jam today. The only jars i have are coffee jars. These have been wash well and will be sterilised in the oven. The lids are glass, push in the jar type. Are these ok to use? Or do I need wax discs?

Also the recipe ask for golden granulated sugar, I have white granulated sugar is this ok to use? Would I need to adjust the recipe, more or less sugar?

Can't help with the jars but would have thought they'd be OK. If you're not sure about the lids then perhaps it might be better to go for waxed discs and cellophane tops.
With the sugar ordinary granulated sugar will be fine. No need to adjust the amount.

Thanks Denise. I think I might just go ahead and try it with the lids I have. If it goes mouldy, it goes mouldy! They will pop back out when you put them on unless the jam is cold.
