Anyone else experiencing a problem with threads they've already read remaining highlighted as unread (both in CP and 'new posts' view), despite there being no new replies? Been happening for a few days now, since the last "maintenance update".

This has been raised a few times and does not relate to any maintenance. The feature you mention provides a best guess. Unfortunately it cannot be relied upon to be spot on, but hopefully it's better than nothing.
For it to work perfectly our servers would have to do a lot more work. This might slow down the forums, and spoil other users' enjoyment of the forums. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience.

Logging out and back in again appears to have fixed it
