Can we get a mortgage with a default?

Throughout my early life I made some financial mistakes resulting in errors on my report, over the past 5 years I've slowly but surely payed off all my debts. My credit score has 3 defaults left on it and come October two will be removed leaving one £513 default which was settled a few years ago. I've recently been married and we're wanting to buy our council house, we have a deposit of over 25% including our discount but will I be accepted for a mortgage anywhere? There's a year left on the last default and I don't want to row any more money away on rent.

One for a broker but yes the default shouldnt stop you getting a Mortgage and at normal rates. Any broker should be able to place this for you without too much trouble.
