I am going to apply for a mortgage this week, having just checked my credit reports with Experian, Equifax & Call Credit I am not appearing at this property on the electoral roll which I've been living at since since May 2012 with my parents. p
Previously we were in our old family home for over nine years. I am 22 and apart from this everything else seems fine, I am going to see a mortgage broker. The crazy thing is I have voted at my new address and receive postal votes. Will this create a instant decline? Slightly worried about it all, really want to get approved !.

Thank you in advance.
Can I find out my credit score?
You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)

Contact council and get evidence of your presence on the electoral roll before you apply. Get copies to each of the three CRAs and keep a copy to show to lenders.

  • Hi, my credit reports said I wasn't on the electoral roll, I contacted the council and they said that I am and they will send me a letter of confirmation. Contact your local council, I went to their website and emailed them, hope this helps.

The usual reason is the council's address does not precisely match the one used by be CRA. An apostrophe out of place is all it takes.

Perfect thank you. Contacted the council today , who confirmed I am on the electoral roll. They have written a letter to me which I'm going to forward on.
