unable to register for Realpeople comp?

Hi,
Can anyone help? I was trying to enter the competition for Realpeoplemag.co.uk. Trying to register and keep getting the message below:
Unable to add to mailing list.
ERROR: List [REALPeople] not found – lists must be created online before they may be used via this interface
It does say you can enter without registering but I can't see how.
Anyone else had this problem?
