Good Morning,

First frost has appeared so pretty cold this morning. It is supposed to be a nice day though - only one I think. Going to take old mattress to the dump along with some empty bottles that seem to have appeared from somewhere. Hopefully have a walk and then get a big food shop. Can't really get a decent food shop in our town as they don't seem to stock much in Tesco or Co-op. It used to be fine when Somerfield had the Tesco store so don't know why Tesco can't get it right.

Good Luck for the week anyway folks. Lets keep up the good work.

Ooh as you mentioned frost Sheils it reminded me...a couple of weeks ago I was chatting to a lady at a bus stop and said how it didn't look very autumnal when all the leaves were still on the trees and she told me the trees won't shed their leaves until there has been 3 frosts. Anyone else heard this before?

So far it seems to be true - we live in the middle of oak and chestnut trees and although they've been shedding fruit the leaves have barely changed colour.

Had good catch up with comps yesterday and Saturday as won't be doing many Thursday & Friday while away at St Andrews.

Still persevering with the hourly Schwarzkopf one but gave up on Jelly Belly.

Frosty here too this morning sheils but not as cold as the other morning. It's 1º here and looks like it's going to be a nice day so I stripped the bed when I got up and got the washing machine going :j

Don't know about the 3 frosts Dreaming - Alfie or fire**fly will probably know - they know all sorts of things

Thanks Firefly x Yes I love the autumn colours too that's why I'm finding it so odd this year! It's Jnrs (well not so jnr) birthday today and I remember clearly waddling through piles of leaves 20yrs ago today.

The same lady has told me many folksy (?) things though.... If you can see enough blue sky to make a sailor a pair of trousers it will be a good day and if the crows are all inland then it's going to be a bad winter! LOL, maybe she just knows she has a gullible audience in me

This is our first frost Rae and we have leaves everywhere! Haven't heard that saying before - or any of the other ones you mentioned.
Won't be rushing out until it heats up a bit. Found a warmer jumper to put on but keeping my warmest ones for when it gets really cold

Good morning everyone, lovely and sunny here at DD2's. They have all gone off to work/school so hopefully may be able to get some coming done today.

Dreaming - my Mom used to say that if the cows were lying down in the field it was going to rain.

Wingo - love fritters, Mom used to make us big potato ones when we were small. Love pineapple ones as well.

Sheils - hope you manage your shopping OK and manage to get a nice walk.

firefly - glad it nice where you are so you get can get out to your zoo without getting wet.

iluvcats - its just an old router box they have here, don't know why as everything else is all up to date and modern. Will see if I can sync mobile as its driving me mad as it keeps draining the battery if I leave wifi on. The mobile connection here is not good anyway think it just where they live.

Alfie - I suppose its gardening for you again today if you have nice weather.
