PPI - Feel worried and can't remember!

  • Following on this thread I received a letter today from Barclays saying they are upholding my complaint and that they are giving me £2556....yay :T

I think thats brilliant however I do feel this amount is rather low considering the loan I took out was £30k. It does state on the letter that if you believe there were other factors that should have been taken into account and would alter the calculation than to contact them.

Do you think its best to contact them and advise them of the above points ie that I had sick pay in my employment etc??
Also if you do contact them can they withdraw that offer and either give you nothing or give you a lower amount! Is it best to just accept what you are offered after all its a nice amount :j

    Thanks :)

No. You won your complaint. There is no need for you to end any more information.

Theoretically, yes. There have been cases where redress has been removed or reduced. Its not common but it is a possibility.

Its not the size of the loan that matters. It is the amount of PPI you paid that does (minus any rebate due to early redemption or a claim paid out). How much was the PPI premium?

To be honest I don't know how much the PPI premium was?

    It states on the letter:

Total refund of PPI Premium and associated interest paid to date £1760 and then adds the interest which is around £980 and then they have minused £200 tax (on the interest) totals £2556. :)
