Overseas wedding gift idea, something British, any ideas?

Hi

We`re going to an overseas wedding and want to bring something from the UK which would be a bit different as a wedding gift for a foreign couple. Something that is quietly British, but not overstated ie No union jacks splash all over the place or royal family photos, ie not tourist tat. Also, nothing too large (for suitcase) and under £60.

Any ideas?
Thanks

P

depends what type of people they are and indeed what they like or even what hobbies they have....

if you want something that is totally british...how about a cake stand or a tea pot....or even a set to include some china cups etc...you can buy some very nice ones from royal worcester which include matching cake knives

Do they like walking...maybe a picnic hamper...you can get some really useful and quite nice ones that are backpacks and might be considered quite british...

Something by cath Kitson...or Emma Bridgewater

maybe a vase, not strickly british but something crystal.

Perhaps you could tell us where the couple are from...that might help with making suggestions etc

I agree it depends where they are from and what kind of people.

I've given a tea pot and cake stand and threw in a box of teabags...so they can have British "tea" as they did afternoon tea in a London hotel and raved about it......so it was something personal to them.

    Thanks for the responses.

Both are late 20`s and Brazilian, havent travelled much apart from South America, likes the countryside but too hot for picnics, etc they dont have that culture. Want to avoid food due to airlines and size of any hampers. Like music, like classic British rock, Rolling stones, etc. So that could be something.

  • How about some beautiful British made linens - tablecloths or napkins or similar? Easy to pack and hard to get abroad
