Re-Employment After Redundancy at same Company
Comments

Hi peeps,
Thanks for the replys.
To clear up any speculation, the company is a) small and b) the redundancy was genuine, the work really was not there and at least 1 person had to go, and I was some-what agreeable to being selected in deference to my other 2 more experienced colleagues.
As far as I know, they company has since grown and they've had several people come and go (for the Job in question) in the meantime.
I also have had 2 other jobs in the last 2 years, so it's just a coincidence that I'm out of work again and they are hiring again.
As most of you say, I'm pretty sure that there is no legal obligation on an ex-employer at all. Just wondered 'tis all.
As an update I contacted the agency regading the vacancy and reminded them I was available and had a very positive chat with the agent who got me the original job in the first place.
Cheers,

After redundancy I think there is a 13 week period where someone from outside the company cannot be taken on in a role which was made redundant. But 2 years there is nothing that I know of, OP I would apply for the job after all you have the experience.0

Only going on what a HR person told me, but that may be their company and not a general rule as such.0 -
I have heard something similar but not sure of how long this is - not two years for sureOnly going on what a HR person told me, but that may be their company and not a general rule as such. We’ve had to remove your signature. Those who have doubted the accuracy of this statement about 13 weeks are correct to do so.
There is not - and has never been - such a requirement. Once the person has left, the company can recruit who they like to whatever position may be available.0 -
even the same job the very next day?LittleVoice wrote: »Those who have doubted the accuracy of this statement about 13 weeks are correct to do so.
