Lost my car log book - where can i get a new one

Hi ya,

I have lost my log book for my car and it will cost £30 to get a new one through the post.

can anyone suggest a cheaper way of getting a new log book or is there anyway that i could get it free.

Please help / any advice would be very welcome

    The DVLA are the only people to issue 'log books' as far as i'm aware.

    There is a form you fill in from the post office or call them, i had this happen to me its very simple. they just re issue it.

    It actually costs £25 to get a replacement logbook and as others have said there is no way around it and the DVLA is the only place you can go to. Is it totally and completely lost or have you just misplaced it?

    Sadly, the price has fairly recently been increased from £19 to £25... as an aside they have also recently put the cost of registering a new car as well (wife works at Audi so knows these things BTW)

    Hope that helps, though probably not what you were hoping to hear...

    unfortunately my hubby didn't read the top part of the log book properly and assumed it wasn't the right one - i had it all along
