Help Needed. Specsavers' Varifocals

New to the forum - and only recently found this rather good site - so unsure if I am asking this in the right section but...
Moving from bifocals to varifocals and having looked round - and used the same branch with some success for a few years - have decided on Specsavers. In part due to being able to have either the free "Standard" lenses or else taking £49 off of their other varifocal lenses.
Anyway my question is this, has anyone tried either one or more of the following Specsavers varifocal lenses and if so can you tell me your experience of them or how you might rate them? I am especially interersted in the "narrowness" of the middle distance viewing "corridor".
Standard
Premium
Elite

I have had the premium ones for several years. To be honest I no longer notice the corridors as they seem to match up with what my eyes to quite naturally. You do have to turn your head to look to the side because anything is distorted at the out edges, but again that becomes second nature.
The middle distance section is not particularly narrow.
The only thing I can say is that I have got used to them, to the extent that wearing my spare "normal" glasses seems a bit strange now.
Personally I love them. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Thank you. That was very helpful indeed.0

I went for the elite ones as I had heard the standards had a very narrow middle distancce and the elites are brill took hardly any getting used to but much more expensive although they do take the £49 off.
If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!0 -
I have just purchased the top of the range varifocals for an additional £149 (they said I had to pay full price because I was getting a free second pair). And they are dreadful. I have worn them for a week now and they feel just like the cheaper version. Mid range is the worse. I only have to move my head a fraction for them to be out of focus. I am going back today to get a refund. I do not know where else I will go but they cost me £388 (for 2 pairs) so I am sure I will be able to find somewhere for the money.0

I have the elite and they are good. I don't get on with the cheaper ones, but mainly due to a problem I have with an eyetravelover0
