Tailored fit shirts

For the past few years I have been buying tailored fit shirts from Next for OH for work. Coming in packs of 2 they suited fine. Now find no longer in stock just regular and slim fit. OH wears sixteen and a half collar but regular fit shirts too big in body and slim fit to tight. Any suggestions where else to try - not too expensive.

Debenhams Red Herring and St George by Duffer range. Also try Asda (George), and even Primark for cheap-but still reasonable quality tailored and slim fit shirts.

Sounds just like my dear departed Dad. My mother used to have bring things home from a local indepenedent mensweqr shop for him to try!

Buy it, order/reserve online (quidco/cashback site if applicable), try on at home. No pressure and in your own time. Take back what you don't like!

    I never try clothes on.

if you are not comfortable in tailored shirts you should buy that type of shirts in that you can feel comfortable, smart and sure.....:) :)

Thank you all for replies, Nancy husband does feel comfortable in tailored fit shirts, it is non-tailored he isn't comfortable in.

I am the same. Only like tailored fit (non tailored too big in body). Next used to have a great selection of tailored but now the fashion seems to be slim fit with those horrible slim ties included.

I have used Red Herring recently and their shirts fit well and are not too expensive. Slaters are also good if you have one of their shops near you. TM Lewin seem to have a good selection but more expensive and only half decent value if you buy 4 or more.

Dodgydl hope to get some for him to try on. Unfortunately this is a man who hates shopping and thinks once you find something that fits well, you just keep re-ordering!LOL. His worst nightmare is tramping round shops trying stuff on - my worst nightmare is ordering online for him to try on then repackaging and returning if it doesn't fit. Wonder if this is an age thing (58yrs old) or if it's a "man thing".
  • My husband is the same he only likes the tailored fit especially the ones from Next. He also has some from Burtons that are a similar fit and style as Next and labelled tailored so you could try there! (they are cheaper too but have washed just as well).
