    Do you need her income to justify the mortgage?

    That's less important than obtaining a mortgage, then losing a source of income, and ending up in default. "Want in now" is a primary cause of the problems that the UK faces today (financially).

    Not necessarily. Some lenders are ok with probationary periods.

    Speak to a broker to see if it can be done now or if you would be best waiting
