Hello fellow wannabe moneysavers.
I'm due to start a new job soon and am working my notice in my current job, however have not received a contract from the new place yet - is this anything to worry about?
I've had an offer letter & accepted it, but haven't had anything since. I've contacted the new company and the boss has assured me he sent the contract out 2 weeks ago but I've not received it . Is this the company having second thoughts or am I just worrying about nothing?
Thanks in advance

Probably just lost in the post. Ask them to send another.
However, I would always ask to see the contract before handing in notice. What if there's something in there you don't like?!0 -
I've asked for another, that hasn't turned up yet either. Good point about something being in the contract that I dont like, although I haven't had chance to see it.
I asked for an emailed version, and he said he doesn't have an electronic copy - it's not as if it has been written by hand is it?0 -

Legally the company has up to the point you have worked for them for two months before they need to have given you written particulars of your employment.
Having in writing the offer and confirmation that any references were satisfactory, is enough to hand in your notice to your existing employers. Really having the "contract" adds nothing to your security - other than perhaps notice pay if they change their mind, depending on the contract terms.
As Southend1 suggests, it is good to have formal written details before commiting to the new job but I would guess that the majority of people do not receive full details until after they have needed to resign from their first job.0 -

That may well be true.
The document could have been produced by, for example, HR and he wouldn't have been given a copy of a standard document customised with your details including start date.
Or, if it is a small organisation, they may use a pre-printed form on which they handwrite the individual details.
When are you due to start? Is the employer a limited company?0 -
Due to start in September - they are a huge (international) company. Guessing I'm probably just worrying over nothing -thanks for the replies0

Tell him to get his mobile phone and photograph each and every bloody page of it if he has to, and email the .jpgs0
