I/They Never learn! AE & Origin & Sims 3 (humble bundle)

The Sims 3 came up as a bundle and I know it's EA, through Origin, but hey surely it's all fixed by now, right?

No such luck. Any one managed to successfully download and install it? (using a mythical 20 digit key that is lacking from my Origin client)

Should've only done steam, but it was the Sims 3, for peanuts and effectively for no money to EA at all (all to charity/humble). Live and learn

I get it, a lot of people would've bought it, but come on, does EA never learn?? From the last farcical jaunt, and yet it goes pear shaped again.

I sit and wait to see what the resolution is.

I just wanted to build opulent houses, with lots of money and luxury items, and mess with my sims. >.<

I once bought the sims deluxe edition about 10+ years ago and have barely touched it, compared to the seminal simcity I have always found it boring so cannot answer you on that point but EA have gone from being one of the great software houses in the early 90s with a whole spate of classics such as Road Rash, James Pond & Toe jam & Earl to a complete and utter joke in 20 years.

They are driven so much by profits now and have forgotten how to put love into their titles.

There will likely be no solution, if they did bring out a fix it would force you to delete your sims from your computer due to security/piracy protection issues for their servers knowing them

The problem is not even having it installed yet. You can download it with the humble code (16 digit), but to actually install the game (and additional content) you need a 20 digit code, for some reason the transfer of codes from 16 to 20 is broken.

It sounds like they'll manually fix it (perhaps) but EA is getting to be the joke that everyone says it is.

I don't even do anything properly with the sims. I just use the money codes, and build silly properties and sims and be terribly mean :$ ;D

How long do the codes take to come through? Bought the bundle through paypal as a gift fir #3 son. Used my tablet and the hb screen just seemed to 'hang' in the 'we're just getting payment from paypal' pop up, even though I'd already got the confirmation email from paypal...

It's a common problem for early adopters? idk, I bought mine last night.
They're saying if you can validate through the Origin client then should/may be fine, but those who did it through the Origin website or on the wrongly told sims3 site it won't convert to 20 digit codes, so to sit and wait for EA to manually? fix codes.

Thrown in addition with connection problems. Now where did that happen before? ... -.-

Check your email for the humble bundle email with the link to claim it in. Mine arrived instantly (even though that paypal window was just churning away) It's been a popular bundle... which doesn't really help those who can't install it.

One would hope that it is fixed for buyers now. if it isn't shame on all parties, EA, Humble, and Origin. The issue is the buyers who already bought it and couldn't mind read EA's multiple activation instructions yet to be issued at time of buying.

Got the bundle myself, Sims 3 is the only one I havent installed, or even looked at the key.

Everything else has been fine, used steam for all those I could.

What is being said regarding activating the Sims 3. Download the Origin client and register/log in there, then activate the game that way. Download it, hover over the sims 3 and see if the pop up comes up, click the "I" and see if your 16 digit code has transferred to a 20 digit code. If it hasn't, call the UK EA and they'll get you sorted.

I am now about to try and play it, I ended up calling up 0870 though, but I now have keys. Still no clue about the DLC that was MIA.

i have just downloaded from origin and if you press the info button before downloading the 20 digit key is there?

It's been fixed, and codes are now updated on the Humble Bundle bought deal page.

IT seems all is well as the missing date night stuff is now back and fixed for using.

All in all, !!!! poor show out for EA/Origin/Humble Bundle. Shame really, sticking with steam from now on.
