Hello Beano7,
E-bay is a good resource for most things but I would be very wary of purchasing such an important and life threatening item as a Knife Proof Vest from there,
1) You can’t tell if it is a manufactured original item or something someone has put together themselves, until you receive it.
2) Even if it is a well made reputably made item you never know what it has been through i.e. has someone been unlucky enough to be stabbed in it or has someone been “testing” it by stabbing it themselves and so weakening the material (That is not directed at anyone just a fact that people have to try things out it's human nature).
Also if you are look at Kevlar, Kevlar is basically layers of exceptionally strong weaved material and is designed to stop bullets and or in some cases shrapnel, unfortunately because knives are sharp pointed items that are usually delivered with an extraordinary amount of force they tend to find their way through the weave and into you (This is also true with needles).
If you go here: http://www.stoppa.co.uk/acatalog/Covert_Vests.html
I can recommend these people 100%, I along with colleagues of mine have purchased vests and other items from them and they are very reputable, you will definitely be paying a little more than e-bay but it is well worth it.
If I remember they also have a condition in their terms that says if you are involved in an incident with the vest just give it back to them with an official report/statement and they will repair it (Something you won’t find on e-bay).
Hope this helps if you wish to talk more then please PM me as I have just scratched the surface.
Take Care

Oh just to be clear as some people can be very cynical: I do not own, hold stock or have any link with the above site, I am just a satisfied customer whom is concerned that someone may go into a difficult situation with below average or grade PPE.0
